Adventure & Challenge Camp - Theme for 2012: Go Outside and Play

13-15 year olds (8th-10th grade for 2012-2013 school year)
Adult Volunteers**

WHAT: This 3-day camp focuses on giving the camper the chance to challenge themselves. Each camper will have the opportunity to go through our ExCEL Leadership Challenge (Ropes) Course. This year’s challenge will emphasize enjoying the outdoors. The campers will have the opportunity to canoe, fish, do arts & crafts, take part in a campfire program, meet 4-Hers from other counties, and gain an appreciation for summer camp.

WHEN:

Session I July 9-11 (Monday 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday 1:00 p.m.)
Session II July 16-18 (Monday 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday 1:00 p.m.)

WHERE: C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock

COST: $165/person registration (deadline June 1, 2012)

Fee includes food, lodging, t-shirt, challenge course and activity supplies

HOW TO APPLY: If you are currently a 4-H member go to https://arkansas.4honline.com.

** Adult Volunteers: Either a county Extension employee or adult volunteer (21 years or older) that has been through the volunteer application process must accompany each county group. A minimum of one adult per eight campers is required by 4-H Center Policy. All adults attending camp are asked to be responsible for the campers from their county and to act in a volunteer capacity during the entire camp. Adults pay regular camp fee.

4-H High Adventure

WHAT: Out-of-state adventure trip

Location changes each year

2012 location: Boundary Waters, Ely, Minnesota

Extended canoe/camping trip for teens and adult advisors.

WHO: 4-H members 14 to 19 years old and Adult volunteers

WHEN: July 29-August 5, 2012 (Sunday 7:30 a.m. to Sunday 8:00 p.m.)*

*All participants are required to attend: Parent/Camper Rally March 3, 2012 at AR 4-H Center, High Adventure Shakedown March 30-April 1, 2012

WHERE: Trip is at the Boundary Waters, Ely, MN

Trainings are at C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock

COST: $600 (registration deadline Feb. 24, 2012)
